
Have you ever thought about why one person chooses another gym over yours?
If not, now’s the time. In the past year, CrossFit has added over 1,000 affiliates to its entourage of about 3,800 worldwide. This is awesome for the community and sport, but if you’re an affiliate owner like me, it also means we’re destined for fierce competition.
That’s why – now more than ever – we need to make sure we sweat the small stuff.
As the population of affiliates widens, it becomes more difficult to differentiate one affiliate from the other. So, how do you STAND OUT as the best place to train and change lives? It all comes down to becoming known for doing the little things that can easily get lost in the shuffle.
Here are 3 examples:
- Clean Toilets – Appearance and first impressions matter. Make sure your facility is a place your members are proud to call home! The environment should be inviting and every piece of equipment should be organized.
- Create Systems – Systems save time and create a better experience for customers. Help your clients understand “How Things Work” from their first phone call to signing their 1-year membership renewal.
- Creative Coaching – Hard workouts can be a distraction from having nothing else to offer. Design a class structure that thrives on smart programming and educating your students for the long term. Then focus on personable and inspiring coaching; your members should actually like the instructors they look up to!
Whether you’re a new affiliate or seasoned veteran, we should always be looking for ways to improve. I believe that when we remember the small stuff, so do our members.
